Live Well – Movement for Community

Self Study + Communal Learning + Physical Movement

What is your role in community and community movement for change? How do you become aware of patterns of social conditioning that create division within ourselves and from each other? How does the collective benefit when you practice identifying and interrupting patterns of inauthenticity to move into authenticity? How does individual authenticity move toward collective solidarity and build community sustainability?

These questions will be explored through this eight session series, spread out once per month over eight months. The time between sessions allows for processing and independent work in preparation for the next session. Each month’s movement practice will be recorded for the opportunity to practice it again throughout the month.*

This series explores tools and practices for building community and community movements, and meeting the challenges that arise in the process. Exploration will include eight monthly 90 minute sessions in-person, and self-paced study between sessions (~ 1 hour per month). Monthly in-person sessions will include ~45 minutes of group discussion and activities that build upon the self-paced pre-work, followed by ~45 minutes of a movement practice. Elements will be familiar from yoga and group fitness, with an emphasis on finding authenticity and freedom in your own body within a communal practice.

Additional Details

Each class will include ~45 minutes of activities/discussion related to the pre-work, followed by approximately 45 minutes of a mindful movement practice directly related to the theme of the month. Material covered will include:
