We’re excited to announce we’re now offering a new Fall CSA program! For the first time, we’re giving our CSA members a shorter CSA subscription. For only $80, you can sign up for a month-long CSA subscription. This program is ideal for individuals or families interested in picking up a weekly variety of fresh produce during the fall and winter months.
What is a CSA Program?
A Veggie Share program, or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), is a seasonal subscription for vegetables. Growing Places Indy offers two kinds of CSA memberships throughout the year — Summer and Winter. Our veggie shares are specifically designed for individuals or families who love to eat a lot of vegetables and cook regularly!
How do CSAs help?
For decades, CSAs have supported small-scale farmers and strengthened local food systems. Our farms benefit by receiving upfront, steady income from members, minimizing some of the risks that come with small-scale farming. At Growing Places Indy, your share proceeds support our mission of creating a more equitable and just food system.
How does it work?
Your share will consist of a variety of vegetables and herbs sustainably grown on our farm and will change on a weekly basis. One share will generally supply a family of 2-4 for a week (depending on a family’s weekly vegetable intake). Each week bring your own canvas bag to pick up, if you can. Weekly produce is subject to change because of unexpected challenges that come with organic growing practices.
Pricing And Time Span
This shorter program is perfect for those interested in receiving a weekly share of seasonal, locally grown produce, but do not necessarily want to commit to a multi-month plan. Pricing is $20 per week, coming to a total of $80 for four weeks of vegetables starting September 10th – October 1st, 2020. Each week’s produce is a little different, but all of it is fresh, local, sustainably grown, and delicious.
