Growing Places Indy To Be 2nd Year Recipient Of The Social Innovation Fund

United Way of Central Indiana announced 14 community organizations will receive grants totaling $1.2 million from our Social Innovation Fund, one of five impact initiatives aimed at reducing generational poverty in Central Indiana.

Growing Places Indy is excited to be second-year recipients of the Social Innovation Fund, which helps support the Grow Getters program. Grow Getters is a year-long program that provides hands-on farm training, mentoring, and business development assistance to aspiring farmers.

Through the Social Innovation Fund, members in the Grow Getters program receive proper resources to develop their own farm, become certified through farm training, and get the opportunity to network with other local farmers through educational field trips.

United Way’s Social Innovation work supports organizations, like Growing Places Indy, looking to intentionally accelerate the cycle of innovation in the sector through the testing of promising practices that ultimately improve efficiencies and the effectiveness of service delivery, leading to quality outcomes for individuals and families in Central Indiana.
