The Indy Winter Farmers Market Suspended Due to COVID-19

With the recent progression of COVID-19 and local guidance to postpone gatherings of events greater than 50 people, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the Indy Winter Farmers Market for the remainder of the season.

While this is incredibly disappointing, the health and safety of our staff, vendors, volunteers, and loyal shoppers is our top priority. We realize the impact this will have on our vendors and customers, and this was not a decision we made lightly.

Now more than ever, it is essential that we do all we can to support access to fresh, local foods. We remain determined to bridge the gap that exists between local farms and our tables, and in order to do this, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

In an effort to support our local farmers and food producers, we’re announcing Produce with Purpose Fund. This initiative is intended to help mitigate the financial fallout that we are all experiencing.

As we shift gears and begin to operate within our new normal the fund will support by:

  • Providing resources to allow us to focus staff time to connect local farmers and food producers to alternate paths of distribution.
  • To secure funds to assist in recovering the loss associated with the suspension of the market.
  • To ensure the continuation of the Indy Winter Farmers Market this fall.

SUPPORT US BY MAKING A DONATION NOW

We look forward to seeing you at the market this November, and we plan to come back stronger than before.

Thank you for your support and understanding,

Victoria Beaty, Executive Director
